Director of Fitness – Full-Time

The Director of Fitness is responsible for all fitness and training activities including the oversight of up to 4 personal trainers and an extensive group of fitness volunteers. This full-time opportunity (minimum 30 hours per week) would be ideal for an enthusiastic leader to continue growing our fitness department. This position will also allow for a creative spirit to initiate new classes and inspire staff to improve the Community at the YMCA.
Knowledge of the fitness industry and physical literacy concepts, experience in Personal Training and managing staff will be an asset.

Responsibilities:

  •  Increase member involvement with the YMCA through fitness programs with a focus on Physical Literacy
  • Lead fitness center orientation sessions
  • Deliver bi-annual Fitness Volunteer certifications
  • Engage with and support 50+ Fitness Volunteers in scheduling and ensuring certifications are current
  • Ensure departmental SAM standards are being met in order to provide high quality member service
  • Ensure conditioning centre are well maintained (ability to lift & carry up to 45 lbs)
  • Supervise and provide leadership to personal trainers including recruitment, training, and coaching and performance management
  • Schedule and deliver Continuing Education opportunities for Personal Trainers and Fitness Volunteers
  • Provide association wide leadership in fitness related initiatives
  • Train one on one with Personal Training clients as required (ability to spot client’s lifting weights)
  • Ability to lead a 1-hour moderate to high intensity fitness class
  • Manage the Fitness budget
  • Be available to answer questions from members regarding personal wellness programs
  • Supervise the conditioning center area during times on the floor, providing assistance to members and ensuring all members are following YMCA member etiquette

Job Requirements:

  • Post-secondary degree in Kinesiology or equivalent
  • First Aid and CPR-C current certifications
  • Certified as, and experience with Personal Training
  • Group fitness certification an asset
  • Marketing skills an asset
  • Criminal Record Check prior to first day of work and dated no more than 3 months before hire date

Personal Trainer – Full-Time & Part-Time

The YMCA is looking to add new Full-Time and Part-Time Personal Trainers to our team. If you are a dynamic individual with an engaging personality, then we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  •  Set up and design training plans for personal and group training clients
  • Set up and run a weekly group fitness class that showcases your specialty in training (ie. TRX, Kettlebell, yoga)
  • Become certified in fitness classes offered through the YMCA (ie. PowerPacing, BodyBlast, and Fit Start Course) and conduct these classes as an instructor
  • Lead YThrive fitness assessments and training sessions
  • Offer the highest levels of customer service to meet member needs
  • Promote fitness and personal/group training to grow the YMCA fitness brand
  • Be flexible with schedule to accommodate clients
  • Provide excellent motivation and communicate effectively to support clients and other staff
  • Assist as directed with cleaning and maintenance tasks related to Fitness
  • Conduct facility tours and fitness assessments with new members and training clients

Job Requirements:

  • Kinesiology Degree preferred (completed or in progress)
  • Current CSCS, CSEP-CPT, Can Fit Pro, or YMCA Individual Conditioning Level II
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR/ AED (Level C) or be working toward certification
  • Ability to fully own personal schedule
  • A drive to meet all member and business needs.
  • Criminal Record Check (CRC), prior to first day and dated within 3 months of hire

Membership Sales and Service Representative – Part-Time

If you enjoy working with the public providing and have previous sales experience keep reading! We are looking to add two dedicated Sales and Service professionals to our dynamic team!

Responsibilities:

  • Duties related to selling YMCA memberships and providing after sales service to our valued members
  • Conducting facility tours and orienting members to the facilities
  • Following up on sales leads from guest passes, day passes and online prospects
  • Registering members for activities, lessons and other programs
  • Additional competencies include, effective communication and problem solving skills, cash handling, and administrative tasks such as working with spreadsheets, using a multi-line telephone system, and using CRM software to manage client accounts
  • Membership staff are accountable for ensuring that members are provided a safe and inclusive space
  • Membership staff are the face of our organization, they must be knowledgeable with regards to all YMCA programs and services and use sales techniques to encourage participation, and drive the growth of our organization

Availability Requirements:

  • Evenings and Weekends availability is required.
  • The YMCA of Regina Operates between 5:30am – 10pm during the week and 7am to 7pm on weekends. Holiday hours are 9am to 5pm.

Job Requirements:

  • Preference will be given to qualified candidates who have previous sales experience
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR/ AED (Level C) or be working toward certification
  • Experience working with the public in a fast paced environment
  • Criminal Record Check (CRC), prior to first day and dated within 3 months of hire
  • Three (3) professional references
