Music for the Mind
with The Garage Band
As our communities emerge and recover from the societal changes and impacts of the pandemic, it became clear that the need for mental health programming and supports are urgently required by children and youth we proudly service in Regina, Moose Jaw, and surrounding communities.
The YMCA responded to these critical needs through intentional programming as well as ensuring access to our centres of community regardless of individual circumstances and financial ability.
A small sample of these programs include:
- Y Mind – supports youth and teens, who are experiencing symptoms of mild-to-moderate anxiety or similar feelings.
- Assisted Membership – low or no-cost memberships for disadvantages youth and their families to create connection and belonging.
- Mentorship Programming – individual and group youth mentorship supports to build leadership skills and personal development.
- Integrated Youth Services – The YMCA in Moose Jaw has been chosen as one of four locations in Saskatchewan to serve local and surrounding area youth through Integrated Youth Services Saskatchewan (IYS) in leading a community Hub that will provide one-stop access to YMCA and community partner programming beginning later this spring.
