The Board of Directors recommends that the following candidates be presented to the Association Members for election to the YMCA of Regina Board of Directors at the AGM on December 17, 2024.
We believe these candidates, each nominated for a two-year term, bring the necessary qualities and experiences to contribute significantly to the YMCA’s success and strategic direction.
Mark Roney
Mark is an Associate Lawyer with MLT Aikins. Mark brings experience advising on corporate matters and issues, non-profit corporations, and interacting with boards. Through this work, he has additionally participated on finance-related committees.
Mark also brings previous experience from working with children with disabilities at the Valley View Centre in Moose Jaw and has served as a volunteer with Pro Bono Law Saskatchewan since 2018.
Austin Bentz
Austin is an Investment Relations Associate with PFM Capital and worked previously as a Relationship Manager with Farm Credit Canada. In addition to being a Certified Financial Analyst, he brings experience in financial management, fund development, and stakeholder relations as well as reporting to boards of directors in both non-profit and for-profit organizations.
Nana Duah
Nana brings extensive experience in strategic planning, board governance, policy, and financial management gained as a board member with the Institute of Public Administration Canada – Saskatchewan Regional Group since 2019, where he served as Treasurer, Vice President, and President.
Nana has an M.A. in Economics with the University of Saskatchewan and is currently working towards his CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation. He is a Director of Transportation Policy with the Ministry of Highways.

We believe these candidates, each nominated for re-election, bring the necessary qualities and experiences to continue supporting the YMCA’s success and strategic direction.
Lee Reid (3 year term)
Lee is a Lawyer with McKercher LLP Barristers and Solicitors. Lee is the Chair of the Governance committee and a member of the CEO Performance Committee. Lee contributed significantly to the recent review, modernization and subsequent approval of the current YMCA of Regina bylaws.
Andrea Bacon (3 year term)
Andrea is a Senior Marketing Advisor with Conexus Credit Union. Andrea has made contributions as a member and past chair of the Funds Development Committee and as a member of the Board Recruitment sub-committee along with other volunteer opportunities within the association.
Ryan Cavan (3 year term)
Ryan is a CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) and Partner with Berger Cavan Group LLP. Ryan is Vice Chair of the Board of Directors, Finance, Audit and Risk Committee Chair, and a member of the Funds Development and CEO Performance Committee.
Louise Usick (2 year term)
Louise is an Executive Director with Crown Investments Corporation, Government of Saskatchewan. Louise is a member of the Governance Committee as well as the CEO performance committee.
