The Board of Directors recommends that the following candidates be presented to the Association Members for election to the YMCA of Regina Board of Directors at the AGM on December 14, 2023.

We believe these candidates, each nominated for a two-year term, bring the necessary qualities and experiences to contribute significantly to the YMCA’s success and strategic direction.

Chris Johnson

Chris serves as Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Business Management and Economics Practice at Praxis Consulting. With a background as an Advisory Panel Member for the Canadian Green Building Council, and previous directorship on the Board of the Regina Food Bank, Chris demonstrates a commitment to community service. He is an active member of the Regina Progress Club; his current and past experiences have equipped him with valuable insights, making him a valuable addition to the YMCA of Regina Board of Directors and providing the knowledge and skills needed for its continued success.

Nerusha Ragulan

Nerusha holds the Assistant Profession in Psychiatry position at the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. She is an active childcare member of the YMCA and has been a valuable member of the Parent Advisory Committee since 2020. Nerusha is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Canada, specializing in psychiatry. She brings a wealth of expertise, demonstrates outstanding service in the field of mental health, and has shown a commitment to community development. Her impressive contributions to the Parent Advisory Committee further underscore her dedication to fostering positive change and involvement within the community.

Sally Houser

Sally is the Senior Manager in Public Affairs at the Canadian Strategy Group. As a Health, Fitness, and Aquatic member of the YMCA, she has previously served on the YMCA of Regina’s Board of Directors. With relevant and past experience serving on the Regina and District Chamber of Commerce Board, Sally has extensive communication skills and experience, which have been identified as an asset to the Board. Her dedication to community service reinforces her commitment to positively contributing to the community and aligns with the YMCA of Regina’s values.
