Responsibilities:

  • Understand and uphold Ministry of Education childcare regulations while fostering teamwork.
  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and explore.
  • Engage and encourage children through the implementation of the YMCAs Playing to Learn Curriculum.
  • Maintains a clean & healthy workplace according to public health & YMCA standards.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to working in partnership with parents, families, and team members.

Requirements:

  • Early Childhood Education Level I-III Certification preferred.
  • Experience working in a structured childcare environment, an asset.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle to transport between centers.
  • Flexibility regarding assigned working hours.
  • Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector check dated within 3 months of hire.
  • Current: Standard First Aid, CPR
  • Play & Exploration Training an asset, but not required

Childcare Centre Cook – Regina

The YMCA of Regina is a non-profit charity open to all. We are dedicated to building strong kids, strong families and strong communities. We focus our program delivery on our three pillars of service: health and fitness, community development, and childcare.

We are currently hiring a Full Time Childcare Center Cook for one of our childcare centers in Regina. If you love working in fast-paced environment, are a self-starter and can work well independently then we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Practice food safety at all times regarding food preparation and cleaning procedures.
  • Preparing Ministry of Education approved healthy meals & snacks for Childcare Centers according to YMCA menus.
  • Cleaning childcare kitchen, dishes and food storage areas according to Public Health Standards.
  • Handling and organizing food delivery; may include lifting up to 40lbs.
  • Maintain accurate food order sheets and inventory lists.
  • Communicate ongoing Food Services needs to the Food service Director and immediate center directors.
  • Complete and comply with all YMCA Policies and Procedures (YMCA Child Protection & Clean Culture).
  • Interact with children as required.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Food Services.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years Food Service or related experience.
  • Canadian Food Safe Level 1 (preferred).
  • Criminal Record Check (CRC) prior to first day of work and dated no more than 3 months before hire date.
  • Three (3) professional references.
