After School Early Childhood Educator (Part-Time | Moose Jaw)

If so, the YMCA of Regina has two part-time After School Early Childhood Educator opportunities available at our various locations in Moose Jaw. Working hours will be 2:30pm-5:30pm with opportunity for additional hours.
Children learn primarily through play and thrive in nurturing environments surrounded by trusted and passionate educators. Through the assistance of our exceptional ECE team, the YMCA of Regina delivers top rated programming, and we are so fortunate to continue to serve our community through this care.
The ideal candidate will foster children’s innocence and elevate all opportunities to turn playtime into learning potential. The YMCA of Regina follows a particular Playing to Learn Curriculum, an interest and play based way of teaching. This curriculum focuses on allowing children the freedom to learn at their own pace, develop valuable skills and reach developmental milestones, all while having fun.
Responsibilities
- Understand and uphold Ministry of Education childcare regulations while fostering teamwork.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and explore.
- Engage and encourage children through the implementation of the YMCAs Playing to Learn Curriculum.
- Maintains a clean & healthy workplace according to public health & YMCA standards.
- Demonstrates a commitment to working in partnership with parents, families, and team members.
Job Requirements
- Early Childhood Education Level I-III Certification preferred.
- Experience working in a structured childcare environment, an asset.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility regarding assigned working hours.
- Criminal Record Check prior to first day of work and dated no more than 3 months before hire date.
- Current: Standard First Aid, CPR
- Play & Exploration Training an asset, but not required

Before & After School Site Staff (Moose Jaw)

The YMCA Before & After School Program is committed to providing quality childcare before school and after school for children in grades 1-8, Monday to Friday at participating schools throughout the city of Moose Jaw.
The ideal candidate will exhibit a high level of organizational aptitude, creativity and an awareness of the overall YMCA of Regina mandate and core values. Empowering youth and building trusting relationships with children and their families is an integral part of the program. All YMCA of Regina staff act as role models for program participants. Responsibilities:
- Providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn, develop, and explore, through the full implementation of our curriculum: A Place to Connect.
- Supervise children ages 5-12 before school and/or after school.
- Promote teamwork and open communication with parents and the Co-Ordinator of the School Based Programs.
- Read, understand and comply with all YMCA of Regina policies and procedures and participate in all training as required.
Must be available to work flexible hours Monday to Friday, 6:45 am to 9:00 am & 3:00 pm – 6:15 pm in various locations in Moose Jaw and have a valid Driver’s License. A Criminal Record Check (original) with vulnerable sector check prior to first day of work and dated no more than 3 months before hire date is required. A background in working with school age children is an asset.
