Director of Childcare (Regina) 1 year term

The YMCA of Regina (operating in Regina & Moose Jaw) excels at delivering programming focused on our three pillars of service: community development, childcare & health fitness, and aquatics.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced ‘Director of Childcare’ to lead one of our Childcare Centers in Regina for a one-year term appointment. The successful candidate will be well-versed in the applicable federal and provincial legislation and agreements in place for the safety and management of childcare centers such as the Child Care Regulations, 2015 as well as Section 14 of the regulations, Philosophy and Program.

Job Description:

  • Accountable for day-to-day operations and decision making for a center serving approximately 90 children.
  • Accountable for overseeing approximately 20 staff, and for the successful delivery of a high-quality early learning programming for children, while implementing the vision and principles of Play and Exploration such as: Early Learning Program Guide and the JUS Philosophy.
  • Responsible for ensuring all YMCA Playing to Learn program requirements are met while complying with the Ministry of Education Regulations and National YMCA Child Protection Standards.
  • Supports the professional development of employees and requires expertise, experience and skill with early learning principles and adult learning, in order to provide leadership and ensure positive outcomes for children.

Job Requirements:

  • Early Childhood Education Level III Certification.
  • Minimum 3-5 years childcare experience and managing a team.
  • Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check prior to first day of work and dated no more than 3 months before hire date.
  • Current Standard First Aid, CPR
  • Play and Exploration Training is considered an asset but not required.

Early Childhood Educator  (Moose Jaw)

Do you love working in a fast-paced environment keeping up with young active minds? If so, the YMCA of Regina has a part-time Early Childhood Educator opportunity available at various childcare centres in Moose Jaw for the summer beginning July 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026. Availability for full-time and part-time hours. Students are encouraged to apply!

The ideal candidate will foster children’s innocence and elevate all opportunities to turn playtime into learning potential. The YMCA of Regina follows a particular Playing to Learn Curriculum, an interest and play based way of teaching. This curriculum focuses on allowing children the freedom to learn at their own pace, develop valuable skills and reach developmental milestones, all while having fun.

  • Understand and uphold Ministry of Education childcare regulations while fostering teamwork.
  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and explore.
  • Engage and encourage children through the implementation of the YMCA’s Playing to Learn Curriculum.
  • Maintains a clean & healthy workplace according to public health & YMCA standards.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to working in partnership with parents, families, and team members.

Job Requirements:

  • Early Childhood Education Level I-III Certification preferred.
  • Experience working in a structured childcare environment is an asset
  • Flexibility regarding assigned working hours.
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check prior to first day of work and dated no more than 3 months before hire date.
