Early Childhood Educator (Moose Jaw)

The YMCA of Regina has full-time ECE opportunities available at our multiple centres in Moose Jaw. The ideal candidate will foster children’s innocence and elevate all opportunities to turn playtime into learning potential. The YMCA of Regina follows a particular Playing to Learn Curriculum, an interest and play based way of teaching. This curriculum focuses on allowing children the freedom to learn at their own pace, develop valuable skills and reach developmental milestones, all while having fun.

Responsibilities:

• Understand and uphold Ministry of Education childcare regulations while fostering teamwork.
• Provide a safe and nurturing environment for infants ensuring their safety, comfort, and happiness.
• Engage in stimulating age-appropriate activities to promote developmental growth through the implementation of the YMCAs Playing to Learn Curriculum.
• Maintains a clean & healthy workplace according to public health & YMCA standards.
• Demonstrates a commitment to working in partnership with parents, families, and team members.

Job Requirements:

• Early Childhood Education Level I-III Certification preferred.
• Experience working in a structured childcare environment, an asset.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility regarding assigned working hours.
• Criminal Record Check (original) with vulnerable sector check dated within 3 months of hire.
• Current: Standard First Aid, CPR
• Play & Exploration Training is an asset, but not required

Director of Childcare (Moose Jaw)

We are seeking a passionate and experienced ‘Director of Childcare’ to lead one of the Childcare Centres in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will be well-versed in the applicable federal and provincial legislation and agreements in place for the safety and management of childcare centers such as the Child Care Regulations, 2015 as well as Section 14 of the regulations, Philosophy and Program.

Job Description:

•  Accountable for day-to-day operations and decision making for a center serving approximately 80 children.
• Accountable for overseeing approximately 20 staff, and for the successful delivery of a high-quality early learning programming for children, while implementing the vision and principles of Play and Exploration such as: Early Learning Program Guide and the JUS Philosophy.
• Responsible for ensuring all YMCA Playing to Learn program requirements are met while complying with the Ministry of Education Regulations and National YMCA Child Protection Standards.
• Supports the professional development of employees and requires expertise, experience and skill with early learning principles and adult learning, in order to provide leadership and ensure positive outcomes for children.

Job Requirements:

• ECE Level III Certification preferred or ECE Level II with a commitment to further education.
• Minimum 3-5 years childcare experience and managing a team.
• Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check prior to first day of work and dated no more than 3 months before hire date.

Do you love working in a fast-paced environment keeping up with young active minds? If so, the YMCA of Regina has two part-time After School Early Childhood Educator opportunities available at our various locations in Moose Jaw. Working hours will be 2:30pm-5:30pm with opportunity for additional hours.

Children learn primarily through play and thrive in nurturing environments surrounded by trusted and passionate educators.
