The Community Engagement Committee (CEC) will strengthen the YMCA’s presence and impact in the community by fostering meaningful connections, planning inclusive events, and recognizing important days of observance that align with our mission, vision, and values.

Inclusivity Statement
At the YMCA, we are committed to creating communities where everyone can shine. We are committed to creating spaces where people can show up in their full range of diversity, including race, gender, religion, language, sexual diversity, and neurodiversity, and that our spaces are accessible to all. As leaders/instructors in this space, we aspire to counter all forms of discrimination and oppression intentionally.
While recognizing that we are learning, we believe that it is important to state our inclusive and anti-oppression intentions at the outset as principles that guide our work in this space and at all YMCAs in Canada.
We are committed to ensuring that YMCAs are free of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, able-ism and other forms of discrimination and we will address any harmful incidents that arise.
