Aboriginal Youth
Building Community
REGINA, SK.

Tomorrow’s Y’s Leaders program aims to engage Aboriginal youth in leadership and cultural development to ensure that they can nurture their future as Leaders in their community. In doing this, YMCA staff and volunteers provides them with the skills and life experience necessary to become positive role models to younger generations. Tomorrow’s Y’s Leaders provides these opportunities that focus on the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual needs of those involved. Leadership development and asset building assist youth to broaden their horizon through healthy engagements in variation of activities.
While participating in Tomorrow’s Y’s Leaders, Aboriginal youth will explore the opportunity to improve their self-esteem, build upon leadership skills, strengthen interpersonal values and expand their appreciation of diversity. This personal growth will allow youth to gain developmental assets and build relationships with peers, other adults and leaders in the community. Through developing these skills youth will also gain the necessary leadership skills to be successful in the future. Through building connections in the community, TYL participants will foster a sense of belonging while having fun and making new friends.
As a Tomorrow’s Y’s Leaders participant, you will have the opportunity to engage in many different activities throughout the week such as basketball, baseball, floor hockey, lacrosse, volleyball, crafts, games, movies, obstacle courses as various cultural activities.
